Sediment & Erosion Control
Identify “hot-spots” and research options to address. Develop Winter Grazing Module for catchment.
Workshop series focused on Winter Grazing & Catch Crops. Understand LUC class and sediment movement with SME.
Erosion & sediment control practices operational (direct drill, timing of cultivation/cropping defined).
Good Management Practices
Identify tools available to farmers to manage GHG & Nutrient assessment.
All FEMP in catchment have GHG & Nutrient Management.
Catchment GHG & Nutrient. Management planning commences.
Farmer/Community Engagement
Catchment Day (Dec 22). Community Engagement Plan (What's App, Newsletter). Catchment Committee
Annual Field Day in Catchment. Connected to TLC for shared events & activities. Sharing stories with non-food & fibre producers.
Develop new catchment action plan.
Water Quality
Identify baseline “current state” across catchment (not just at exit point). Develop plan for water quality monitoring ( groundwater, DIN) in catchment. Align with school and Enviro Schools programme).
Seasonal creek flow source identified. Information resource from year 1 monitoring. Catchment data from monitoring being integrated into HBRC information.
DIN level variation understanding – variation across catchment and primary sources of identifiable changes.
Biodiversity – Predator & Pest Control
Engage key stakeholders to determine current state. Prioritise TB control & management
Collecting data to assess pest trend. Bird monitor/counting project started with school.
Annual hunting competition for catchment.
