About the event
Tukituki Land Care (TLC) is launching Central Hawke’s Bay’s first predator Trap Library for farmers in the 17 Tukituki sub-catchments. With 400 free-to-borrow traps, we’re stamping down on stoats, rats, hedgehogs, possums and feral cats to boost native biodiversity, help our wetlands and bush regenerate and lower the spread of disease affecting our livestock. Find out more at www.tukitukilandcare.org/trap-library.
To kick things off, hunter, fisher, conservationist and trapping legend, Sam “the Trap Man” Gibson is joining us to share why on-farm trapping works. We’ll also screen Think Like a Forest, a powerful short film featuring Sam that spotlights a bold, science-led push to restore, regenerate, enhance, and manage more than two million hectares of native forests and wetlands across Aotearoa over the next 30 years.
Come and learn and borrow a trap. Grab-and-go lunch provided on arrival.
